I hate this town

Not really. I hate whoever decided that it should be one big circle with a bunch of nonsensical crisscrossing roads inside the circle. I also hate whoever designed the damn Yahoo maps software that made me go all the stinking way around the circle to get to a place not too far from my house.

So I set out today on a mission - check out the volume meat and veggies store, stop by the thrift store (Ethan needs shorts... again) and pick up a few things for dinner.

We ended up going in a big circle, all because of Yahoo Maps. Ok, and possibly my not knowing the area enough to know that Yahoo Maps was full of shit had something to do with it. Maybe...

No shorts at the thrift store, but they did have a really cute cabinet for the boys bathroom.

So I stopped in to Volume Meat and Veggies. She did not lie. They really sell meat and veggies. All frozen, all the time. We bought some catfish and hush puppies. I was really hoping that this place would be like my old local fruit and meat market (Jack's for those of you in Midland) but sadly, it was not. Not sure if I will go back.

Oh, and I did buy a 25lb bag of sweet potatoes for $8 from the street potato people. I see a few sweet potato pies in our future. Maybe that will be our "southern food" of the week next week? It could have been worse. I could have bought a Pomeranian from the people across the street.
